Hi Everyone,

As I’ve been mentioning over the past couple of months, I’ve put us forward to perform at Disneyland Paris next year! Performing on the Disneyland Paris stage would be an incredible experience, combining time in the park with a memorable opportunity to showcase our talent.

Team Selection

Due to the nature of this performance, limited spaces, and the high standards expected, I’ll be forming a team of dancers from each class. Selection will be based on how well students know and execute routines, as well as their effort both in and out of class. I’ll be looking for those who show consistent progress, returning each week with visible improvement.

Forming a strong team is essential as we will need to audition. A solid group will help boost our chances of performing at Disneyland.

I’ll confirm the team members in mid-November.

Audition Process

Our audition requires two 3-minute routines featuring only the students selected for the show. If successful, this group will perform at Disneyland.

  • Routine 1: Rosa Parks routine we started recently (all groups will know their sections, and we’ll merge it into a single performance).
  • Routine 2: We’ll start working on this routine after the half-term break.

Audition Filming

  • Date: Saturday, 21st December
  • Time: 12 pm – 3 pm
  • Location: St John’s Comprehensive, Rochester Road, Gravesend, Kent DA12 2JW

With this session happening after our end-of-term demos, students should be ready to perform. We’ll use this time to finalize spacing and run through each routine a few times.

Outfit for Audition:

  • Roger Rabbit & Tone Wop: Black t-shirts with “1” print and black bottoms (same as the previous show).
  • Party Machine: White bottoms and red t-shirt.

We expect to hear back by January/February 2025 if we’re successful!

The Disney Trip

The trip will span Saturday, 9th August – Monday, 11th August 2025. If selected, we’ll perform on the Saturday and then enjoy the park!

  • Performance Slot: We’re penciled in for a 20-minute slot exclusively for Team Kaizen. Each class will likely perform 2-3 times.
  • Combined Classes: Party Machine, Tone Wop, and Roger Rabbit students will work together on routines throughout the year.

Travel and Accommodation

  • Chaperone: All students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (parent/guardian or another family member).
  • Hotel: We’ll stay in one of the Disney-themed hotels, with rooms accommodating up to 4 people.
  • Travel: We’ll travel as a group, either by coach or Eurostar. Beyond travel and performance, you’re free to enjoy the park with friends and family.

Preparing for the Show

With a full year to prepare, we’ll be able to polish our routines. We’ll revisit routines learned throughout the 2024-2025 school year and hold final rehearsals in late July/early August 2025. These rehearsals will be at our Gravesend branch, with exact dates (likely between 28th July – 8th August 2025) confirmed in early 2025.

Final Thoughts

I’m thrilled about this potential opportunity and hope we can advance past the audition stage. If you’re interested, please discuss it with your parent/guardian to confirm it’s feasible. They can find all the details in their account, including prices and room setup.

To be considered, your parent or guardian must complete the interest form by 11th November 2024. [CLICK HERE TO COMLETE FORM]. Selected students must commit to attending the audition, rehearsals, and show dates. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to change the team after auditions, as any dropouts would impact our chances.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out through the contact form on your class page, or have your parent/guardian get in touch.

Thanks,
Kieron
